The Rockfish Team

Matthew Balte

 Program Director

Matthew Balte or just “Balte” as he is known in camp circles, grew up in Carrollton, GA and attended camp in the north Georgia mountains throughout his childhood. Balte has always credited his spiritual, mental, and emotional growth to his time at camp and it is even where he first felt a call to leadership and Christian ministry. Balte lives to create those spaces and opportunities for others to discover their gifts, abilities, and calls. He met his wife, Emily, at Georgia Southern where they both served as interns at the Wesley Foundation. They have served on summer staffs at camps in the Peach State and look forward to what God is doing here at Camp Rockfish!

When not at camp, you can find him on a run, maybe at the golf course, lamenting about Atlanta sports, or sharing one of his great puns!
