The Rockfish Team
Casey is excited to join our ministry with Rockfish Camp and Retreat Center. Casey has had a myriad of camp and career experiences prior to accepting the call to Rockfish; to include several camp counselor rolls, day camp / after school ministry, environmental education, middle school science teaching and soccer coaching, and even has had career in artisan bread making..Most recently Casey has been serving in camp management and has begun his ministerial studies. He believes that all of his life experiences have helped prepare him for exciting times and for helping lead our dynamic team to help answer Christ's call for our campers, families, churches, and the world. Casey believes that some of our foundations for C.A.M.P. ministries are in Community, Advocacy, Mission, and Prayer development and to seek God's will and direction for all our lives. Casey is married to an amazing and passionate educator Melissa Perry and is a proud step father. Casey and Melissa have recently adopted a puppy named Maggie and they enjoy hiking and camping with her, as well as going to as many and as diverse artist's performances and concerts as possible.
Jess was born in Georgia and grew up moving around the world as part of an Air Force family. She lived in three states and two foreign countries by the time she was ten. While her house kept changing, her home was always found at camp and in the great outdoors. Jess is a graduate of The University of Colorado Psychology program and utilizes that background to build group dynamics and communication. Her professional camp journey began in 2012 in Southern Illinois and has most recently brought her to Camp Rockfish where she is excited to bring children closer to God through Nature.
When not at Rockfish, you can find Jess hiking, camping, cooking, or catching a hockey game with her adventure sidekick- her beagle, Jasper.
Office and Reservation Manager
Jessie began working at Rockfish during the summer of 2011 as a college student and continued working summers through 2013. In August 2017, Jessie joined the Rockfish team full-time. With a background in both theatre and education, Jessie has a passion for serving others and creating memorable experiences. She is excited to use her gifts to guide guests to an amazing experience during their stay at Rockfish.
In her time away from camp, Jessie enjoys spending time with her husband, Joel, and their three dogs, Jax, Lexi, and Guinness. She also enjoys singing in her church's praise band, cooking, acting, and any activity that takes her outdoors.
Cynthia joined the Rockfish team in April of 2019 as an After School Counselor and has grown in her role and is now in charge of coordinating the marketing of Rockfish Camp and Retreat Center. She is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University's Graphic Design and Media Arts program. Cynthia was born in Alaska and has traveled the world most of her life she has visited Germany, Holland, Japan, Malaysia, Bahrain, Dubai, and Taiwan to name a few places. She grew up for the most part in Hoke County North Carolina and joined the Navy in 2007 to 2012. She attended Camp Rockfish as a child in the mid 1990's for summer camp and took various scouting adventures here as a child.
Cynthia enjoys spending her time with her husband, daughter, and zoo of animals. Cynthia is a mixed media artist and likes to work with anything art related and messy. She is very active within her church. She is also a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter's troop.
FOOD SERVICE MANAGER
Sonya is in charge of coordinating the kitchen team and serving up some awesome hospitality. Sonya is a culinary school graduate from Seneca Valley in Maryland who has worked as a professional chef for over a decade. She brings so many different styles of cooking into the Rockfish kitchen and goes out of her way to leave a smile on the face of every guest.
When Sonya is not working at Rockfish, she enjoys spending time at home, working in her yard, and hanging out with her dog, a lovable Cane Corso.
Also, known as "Moose", Frank grew up in the Garden State (New Jersey) on a small farm and was active in 4-H & FFA. Moose married and moved to western North Carolina where he and his wife 4 children and built a small farm. Moose started out his career building homes; foundation to framing, drywall, and grading. After he built hundreds of homes in the Mooresville area, he moved into industrial maintenance and installation of new machines. With over 20 years experience in servicing, maintaining, inspecting, trouble shooting, repairing, refurbishing, & upgrading, this gave Moose an opportunity to travel the US and work with professionals from all over the world.
Moose and his wife have three grandchildren that they love to spoil, and he loves to travel and meet new people! He has been on several mission trips, including an international mission to Brazil. He has an extensive collection of stories that he can't wait to share with you! His love for youth ministries and experience of construction makes him right at home here at Rockfish!
Montrez Levi (Trez) began his journey at Rockfish as a camper in 2017, then joined the Rockfish team in the summer of 2019 and has loved it ever since. Trez began serving full time on the Rockfish team in 2021. Trez absolutely loves meeting new people and working with our campers. Trez’s excitement can easily be witnessed through his energy as seen at camp. Having served in many different capacities here at camp, Trez feels most honored to serve as our Retreat and Hospitality Coordinator. Trez is originally from Maryland and has lived in many different places due to being a foster child. This experience has greatly influenced his faith and is how he became closer to Christ. When Trez is not at Rockfish he is working hard on completing his Bachelor's degree and spending time with his amazing dog named Monte. Some unique things about Trez is that he loves to cook, dance, play tennis, strike up a conversation, and is known for never matching his socks while at camp.
Children's Ministry Coordinator
Madi grew up and went to college on the coast of South Carolina before moving to Durham to get her Master’s of Divinity at Duke. Madi started at Rockfish in the summer of 2019 as the Duke Intern and, as she says, “couldn’t stay away”! She is passionate about the outdoors, her faith, and serving others. When she isn’t at camp, she can be found hiking, exploring new places, hanging out with her dog (Gladys), and cheering on Duke Basketball!
