Camp Rockfish Uses Cumberland Community Foundation, INC. Grant To Send Children to Camp in 2021

Parkton, NC — Rockfish Camp and Retreat Center announces their campership program with the help of a grant in the amount of $2,960.00 from Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc.

Rockfish Camp and Retreat Center is proud to announce they sent 16 campers to day camp this summer on full scholarship in partnership with Community Foundation, Inc. Scholarships were provided to campers from Cumberland County that without financial support would be unable to attend camp. Children in kindergarten through 8th grade engaged in a week long day camp where they participated in worship and devotion time; engaged in outdoor activities including archery, swimming, kayaking, fishing, environmental education, and many other activities; and formed new friendships in a close-knit small group of campers, while implementing precautionary procedures and standards in advisement with the CDC, American Camp Association, and local health authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Rockfish Camp and Retreat Center continues to seek to make camp affordable to all families, by providing low cost camp experiences and financial support. They believe all children should have the opportunity to attend camp and experience the fun, faith, and friendship that can be found there. They are thankful for Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc.’s support in this endeavor to ensure that summer camp is an opportunity available to all.
